Here you will find out a little more about us, the information needed to apply for a Scholarship through the Southern California Catholic Educational Excellence Foundation (SCCEEF), and the application timelines. 

You have probably read about SCCEEF in other sections of our website and learned a bit about our organization. This portal, however, is specifically designed to give applicants and their families a deeper knowledge of how we accomplish our mission and the criteria considered within our process of determining the identities of SCCEEF scholarship recipients.

SCCEEF is a 501(c)-3 nonprofit that was established in 2018. As a private, volunteer organization, SCCEEF raises funds through the generous donations of individuals, businesses, and even other foundations to help families of Scholar-Athletes, both male and female, to attend a Catholic High School within the Los Angeles Archdiocese.  SCCEEF assists in bridging the gap between financial awards given by schools and the amounts families are pragmatically able to pay. 

Our application window is from June 1st through July 31st, with the announcement of any awards targeted for August 31st. Parents/Guardians will be notified either by telephone or email (a) whether a scholarship has been granted and (b) any dollar amount awarded.  Awardees will have 48-hours to accept or decline the award. If the scholarship is accepted the SCCEEF will make the tuition payment within 30 days, directly to the school’s financial aid office. 

Each scholarship recipient must complete the application process each year, renewing the scholarship. We strongly encourage the student applicant to take part in the process, giving them a sense of ownership over their own enfranchisement. The application process includes uploading specific documents to this portal. Each document must be saved as an individual PDF. All documents must be uploaded before submitting the application.

Below you will see a list of documents needed to complete the Application. Once you are logged in to your account, return to this page, click the appropriate button located at the bottom of the page (‘New Applicant’ or ‘Returning Applicant’), complete the personal information fields, upload the documents and submit.

Each of the following documents is necessary to the Application Process:

  1. Please submit the Student-Athlete’s Letter of Acceptance to a Catholic High School within the Los Angeles Archdiocese 
  2. Please submit the Student-Athlete’s most recent Grade Report. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum 2.75 GPA. Please upload the Grade Report 
  3. Please complete the Personal Information page
  4. Please submit a Financial Aid Award Letter from a Catholic High School within the Los Angeles Archdiocese
  5. Please upload the most recently filed Federal Tax Return for the Student-Athlete’s Parent or Guardian
  6. Please submit 2 (two) Letters of Recommendation from a teacher or School Administrator familiar with the Student-Athlete Applicant
  7. Please submit 1 (one) Letter of Recommendation from a Coach, or other Athletic Organization Representative
  8. The Student Athlete Applicant must also write and submit a Personal Letter, focusing on the Student-Athlete’s academic awards, accomplishments, achievements, interests (in and outside the school environment) and any goals relative to the Student Athlete’s High School experience. This Personal Letter should not exceed 2 type written pages
