Wilmer Aaron is a gifted baseball coach with an extraordinary ability to translate baseball theory, technique and proper mechanics into gameplay.

Coach Aaron grew up in Los Angeles where he attended Manual Arts High School. During his senior year of high school, he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals but decided to attend LA Valley Junior College.  While attending LA Valley he was drafted, a second time, as the 1st pick in the secondary phase by the Baltimore Orioles. He went on to play 3 years with the Orioles and later 3 years with the Cleveland Indians after being traded in 1974. In 1978, he went to South America to pursue an opportunity playing both summer and winter ball in Venezuela.

Coach Aaron has developed techniques and drills that are specifically designed to accelerate a player’s development so that their skill level will improve and become the best they can be.

Coach Aaron took over a Serra High program after they had lost more than 20 games consecutively and held a national ranking of some 39,000. Within three years’ time, Serra had won over 20 games from 2012-2014.Serra was also ranked the No.1 hitting team in the nation in 2012.  By 2013, Serra was ranked one of the top 25 teams in the nation and had captured the Division 3 CIF-SS championship in. Coach Aaron was named the CIF “Coach of the Year” along with being named “Coach of the Year” by the LA Times, The LA Sentinel, and The LA Wave Papers. Serra’s Dominic Smith was named “Player of the Year” and was the 16th player overall by the New York Mets of his draft class.

All of the high school players under his charge have graduated, with several attending Division 1 colleges. Coach Aaron loves developing players and arming them with the skill sets that can afford them an opportunity to play at the next level.  “Without proper technique and training, development will not take place.  Persistence, great work ethic, aggressiveness and having the right mindset are imperative as well in developing a well-rounded player.” He says developing players is like taking clay molding it and watching it before your eyes take shape and form and emerge into something beautiful.
