Wilmer Aaron is a highly respected baseball coach known for his exceptional ability to translate theory, technique, and mechanics into on-field excellence.
A native of Los Angeles and graduate of Manual Arts High School, Coach Aaron was first drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals during his senior year. Choosing to continue his education, he enrolled at LA Valley Junior College, where he was drafted again—this time as the first pick in the secondary phase by the Baltimore Orioles. He played three years with the Orioles before being traded to the Cleveland Indians, where he played another three seasons. In 1978, he expanded his professional career internationally by competing in both summer and winter leagues in Venezuela.
Coach Aaron has developed a proven training system that accelerates player development through targeted techniques and drills. His coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, proper mechanics, and a winning mindset, helping athletes reach their full potential.
Taking over the struggling baseball program at Junípero Serra High School, Coach Aaron led a dramatic turnaround. From a team that had lost over 20 consecutive games, Serra went on to win over 20 games between 2012 and 2014. In 2012, they were ranked the No. 1 hitting team in the nation. By 2013, they earned a spot among the top 25 teams nationally and secured the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 championship. Coach Aaron was named CIF “Coach of the Year,” as well as “Coach of the Year” by the Los Angeles Times, LA Sentinel, and LA Wave newspapers. That same year, Serra’s Dominic Smith was named “Player of the Year” and was selected 16th overall in the MLB Draft by the New York Mets.
Every high school athlete under Coach Aaron’s guidance has graduated, with many advancing to Division I programs. He remains deeply passionate about molding young talent, stating, “Developing players is like molding clay—watching it take shape into something beautiful. With proper training, persistence, and the right mindset, growth is inevitable.”
